Meet your receptionist

Pearl talks to your customers like you would.

She's not a phone tree. She listens, asks follow-up questions, and books the job. She knows your service area, your prices, and the questions you tend to forget. She doesn't quit, get sick, or take a smoke break.

A real voice, not a robot

Streaming TTS from ElevenLabs Flash — pauses, intonation, breath. Most callers cannot tell on the first call. The ones who can say "huh, that's pretty good for an AI."

Tuned to sound like you

Greeting line, voice preset, speaking pace, formality level, and backstory — all configurable. Want a calm Texas drawl that says "y'all"? Set it once. Pearl uses it on every call.

Actually useful, not scripted

Books appointments into your calendar via tool calls, takes addresses with zip-code validation, asks the brand-and-model questions you set up, hands off to you over SMS when she's out of her depth.

Always on, always learning

Answers at 3 AM. Answers during dinner. Every call recorded, transcribed, and summarized — change the script once and the next call uses it. Never repeats a mistake twice.

A short bio

Pearl was built for the owner who's been answering their own shop phone for fifteen years and is tired. She doesn't pretend to be human — she introduces herself as an AI when asked, like FCC guidance says she should. But she sounds calm, professional, and prepared, because she's not winging it: she has your shop's actual context loaded.

A real call (transcript)

Here's what a typical Tuesday morning sounds like.

Bay HVAC · +1 (916) 555-2934 · 10:24 AM
Caller
"Hey, my furnace is making this knocking sound, and it kinda smells weird."
Pearl
"Got it — that's the right call. I'm Pearl, AI receptionist for Bay HVAC. For a knock plus an odor I'd want to get someone out today. What's the address?"
Caller
"742 Evergreen Terrace, Sacramento."
Pearl
"Perfect, you're in our zone. Any chance you remember the brand of the furnace? Carrier, Trane, Lennox, something like that?"
Caller
"Uh, I think it's a Lennox. Like ten years old."
Pearl
"That helps the tech know what to bring. Earliest I have is 2 PM today — Mike can be there between 2 and 4. Diagnostic is $89 and gets credited back if you do the repair. Want me to book it?"
Caller
"Yeah, let's do it."
Pearl
"Booked. You'll get a confirmation text in the next minute, and Mike will text when he's 15 minutes out. If anything changes, just reply STOP and I'll let you know."

Why Pearl

Built the opposite of enterprise field-service software.

ServiceTitan, Jobber, and Housecall Pro are great — for 50-truck fleets that can hire someone to learn them. Pearl is for the owner-operator who has to be on the truck before lunch.

01

The receptionist is built in. Not a $300/mo add-on.

Most field-service CRMs hand off to a third-party answering service when the phone rings. Pearl answers, books, and confirms inside the same app — using your prices, your zones, your service area, your voice.

02

Everything works on the phone.

Every feature in Pearl is fully usable from your phone — invoicing, dispatching, calendar, receipts, analytics. If we ship something desktop-only, it's a bug. The big incumbents still tell their techs to 'call the office' when the truck loses signal.

03

The unbilled money has its own inbox.

Other tools bury unpaid invoices in a report you'd have to remember to run. Pearl pushes them into an inbox like emails: completed jobs without an invoice, invoices going stale, materials priced below cost, regulars who quietly went silent. Tap to send a reminder.

04

TCPA-safe outbound, on by default.

When Pearl auto-calls a waitlist or returns a missed call, the window, max attempts, and opt-out keywords are pre-configured to the strict-end of US federal rules. You can loosen them. You can't accidentally pay a $1,500 TCPA fine because nobody set them up.

05

The interface speaks five languages — caller experience stays English.

Owner picks English, Spanish, French, Russian, or Chinese for the app interface (setup is hard enough in your second language). Pearl answers calls today in English, Spanish, and Russian — pick what your customers actually speak. French and Mandarin on the calls are next.

06

One price. No tiers, no add-ons, no 'starting at'.

$129 if you're the only seat. $229 if you have a team. Twilio costs (phone numbers, SMS, voice minutes) pass through at cost — no markup. No 'configuration fee'. No annual contract. You read the price, you pay the price.

We don't build software for the back office. We build it for the seat of the truck.

Pearl

How Pearl compares

The honest side-by-side.

ServiceTitan and Jobber are great for 5+ trucks with a dispatcher. Smith.ai is great if you want humans. Pearl is the only one built for the owner-on-the-truck.

Vendor prices reflect publicly listed starting tiers as of 2026 — they all negotiate. Feature columns are what each tool ships out of the box, not what's possible with add-ons. If you spot something off, email hello@pearlcrm.app and we'll update it.

How it works

Three steps. Set up once, change anytime.

01

Connect a phone number

Bring an existing Twilio number or buy a fresh local one inside Pearl. Point your shop line to forward calls to Pearl when you can't pick up.

02

Teach Pearl your business

Service area, pricing, the questions you always forget to ask, the way you talk on the phone. Twelve knobs — all optional. The Pearl defaults are sensible enough to use as-is.

03

Open the app to see what happened

Bookings hit your calendar. Customers get SMS confirmations. You get a notification when something needs your eyes — not when something is routine.

Your first 14 days

What actually happens after you sign up.

No 'we'll be in touch' delays. Pearl is live the moment you finish setup.

  1. Day0
    Right now

Pick a Pearl number (or paste your carrier forward code), type your business name and a one-line hello, call yourself to test. ~5 minutes.

  2. Day1

    First call answered

Pearl picks up your first real inbound call — usually within 24 hours. Recording, transcript, and a summary land in your inbox. You read it. It's surprisingly fine.

  3. Day3

    Calendar + SMS settle in

Pearl is sending confirmation texts, briefing you 15 minutes before each job, and your Google Calendar shows tomorrow's runs in color.

  4. Day7
    First win

    First unbilled job surfaces

Cash Recovery Inbox flags a completed job from last week that never got invoiced. One tap sends the customer an AI-drafted reminder. Sometimes that one tap is worth a month of Pearl.

  5. Day14
    First win

    First Cascade booking

A customer cancels. Pearl auto-calls the waitlist, books the next person, you find out from a notification while you're under a sink. The slot is full again — you did nothing.

Real onboarding pattern from early-access customers. The order is consistent; the speed depends on how busy your phone is. Quiet shops see Day 1 take a few days, busy shops see Day 7 happen in three.

The math

How much you might be leaving on the table.

Drag the sliders to your shop. The number on the right is what missed calls cost you in revenue every month — the conservative version.

8 calls

Voicemails, hang-ups, after-hours rings. Industry average is 1 in 3 calls to small service shops.

$425

Your typical job revenue. HVAC/plumbing usually $300–700; restoration and roofing higher.

55%

Of the leads you actually talk to, what % book. Most owners we ask say 50–70%.

Conservative math: weekly missed × close rate × avg ticket × 4.33 weeks. Doesn't count downstream repeat work, referrals, or 2 AM emergencies you currently sleep through. Real numbers usually run higher.

Who is building this

Pearl is one person building for one customer at a time.

hello@pearlcrm.app

Pearl was built by a founder who got tired of watching small service shops lose money to phone tag. It's not a 50-person company yet — and we'd rather ship the right thing for one truck operator than the wrong thing for fifty.

Email lands in my inbox, not a ticket queue. If something is wrong, broken, or missing, you'll hear back within a day — often the same hour. That's not a marketing promise; it's just what one person plus a calendar look like.

What we will never do
  • Sell or share your customer data — not to ads, not to insurance brokers, not to anyone.
  • Train shared AI models on your call recordings or transcripts.
  • Trap you with annual contracts, configuration fees, or hidden tiers.
  • Lie about features — if it's on the landing page, it's in the product today.
Questions

The answers you'd ask a friend who already uses it.

Most don't notice on the first call. Pearl speaks at human cadence, picks up at the first ring, and uses your company name + the words you taught her. A few callers do ask 'am I talking to a bot?' — Pearl answers honestly (FCC rule), and they almost always continue the booking anyway. If you want, you can listen to a recording of every call she's ever taken — they sound surprisingly normal.

Five minutes. You: (1) pick a Pearl phone number or paste a forwarding code on your existing cell, (2) type your business name + a one-line hello, (3) call yourself to test. Done. The rest (calendar sync, SMS templates, lead inbox) you can wire up later when you feel like it. No software to install, no QuickBooks integration to configure, no training video to watch.

ServiceTitan, Jobber, and HCP are built for shops with a dedicated office dispatcher and 5+ trucks. They have powerful dispatch boards, but they're desktop-first, take days to learn, and the AI receptionist is bolted on as a $200/mo add-on. Smith.ai and Ruby are answering services with real humans — great, but $475+/mo and no CRM. Pearl is the only thing built specifically for the owner-on-the-truck: AI receptionist + CRM + calendar + cash recovery, $129 flat, mobile-first. If you have 5+ trucks and an office, use ServiceTitan. If you're solo or 2-truck, Pearl fits better.

Yes. Two ways: (1) Carrier forwarding — dial *61 (AT&T), **61* (T-Mobile), or *71 (Verizon) plus your Pearl number on your cell. Your customers keep dialing your old number on your truck/cards/Google Business. Pearl only answers when you don't pick up in ~20 seconds. (2) Or port your number to Twilio (~2 weeks) and make Pearl the primary line. We recommend (1) — zero porting risk, free, reversible in 10 seconds with ##002#.

None. Cancel anytime, no contract, no early-termination fee. If you forwarded your existing number, dial ##002# on your cell and the forwarding is off — your number is back to ringing only you within seconds. If you used a Pearl number, it gets released back to Twilio. Your data (clients, calls, jobs) exports as CSV anytime. We don't believe in trapping users.

One-time Gmail filter setup. You add a filter in your Gmail: 'from yelp.com OR thumbtack.com OR angi.com → forward to <your Pearl inbox address>'. Done. Every new lead email those platforms send becomes a ready-to-call Pearl Lead with the name, phone, and request already extracted. Pearl never reads your other emails — Gmail itself does the filtering, we only get what you whitelist. Setup takes 2 minutes.

When Pearl can't book a caller because you're full, she adds them to a waitlist. When you get a cancellation, Pearl auto-calls the waitlist in priority order — 'Hey Sarah, this is Pearl from Pro Clean. We had Wednesday 10 AM open up — does that still work?'. Booked or not, you don't lift a finger. ServiceTitan has a waitlist as a list (you call them yourself). Smith.ai doesn't have one. Pearl actually picks up the phone for you on cancellations.

Every call is recorded and transcribed. You see the conversation in the inbox the moment it ends. If Pearl mishandled something, you adjust the script, service area, or the data fields it asks for — and the next call uses the change.

Yes — strict defaults out of the box. A configurable call window (e.g. 9 AM–6 PM local time), max attempts per lead, opt-out keyword detection (STOP, unsubscribe, do-not-call), and a per-customer 'contact preference' override (auto / human-only / SMS-only / opted-out). The defaults sit on the strict end of US federal rules.

Pearl needs internet to receive calls and book appointments — that's a phone receptionist constraint, not a Pearl one. But the mobile app is a PWA: receipts, mileage, and notes you log while signal is bad get queued locally and sync when you're back online. No 'call the office' message.

Phone numbers and SMS/voice volume are billed by Twilio directly to your card. We don't mark them up. Typical US numbers run $1–3/month + about $0.0075 per SMS + voice minutes at Twilio's standard US rate. A typical 1-truck shop runs $20–50/month on Twilio.

Four shipped detectors: (1) Unbilled completed jobs older than 24 hours, (2) Invoices unpaid for 7+ days, (3) Regulars who broke their pattern (the 'ghost customer'), (4) Materials priced under the invoice markup. Each gets a draft AI reminder with a tone slider; you approve before any SMS goes out.

The interface ships in English, Spanish, French, Russian, and Chinese — pick at signup. Pearl already takes calls and sends SMS in English, Spanish, and Russian — set the per-customer language or let her auto-detect on the first ring. French and Mandarin on calls are next.

Today: CSV import for customers, deals, and appointments. Native imports for ServiceTitan and Jobber are on the roadmap — if you're switching, send a sample export and we'll help you map fields manually.

Pearl is in early access. You can register and use the product today; billing infrastructure is being built in parallel. Early-access customers get invoiced manually once a month and lock in launch pricing for life. Want in? Sign up and we'll be in touch within a day.
